Professor Peter Hewlett, president of the ICT and a past president of The Concrete Society, and Research and Development director received an honour at the UKIERI Concrete Congress held in Jalandhar, India.
Prof Hewlett received a silver medal inscribed ‘For Outstanding Contributions to Concrete Science, Technology, Design and Construction’. The Congress was held in the Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology; the subject of the conference was ‘Innovation in Concrete Construction’. In all, seven people were honoured at a dinner held in the open grounds of the Institute. This event was the first of its kind to be held in India and was exceptionally well attended. The congress was chaired by Professor RK Dhir, also a past president of The Concrete Society.
